I was into collecting amp-in-case guitars for a while and this guit I've had this set for about 3-4 years now and have never even played them. There is general wear on both the guitar and amp.
#1964 JB HUTTO MONTGOMERY WARD AIRLINE GUITAR FULL#
Both the guitar and the amp case have the full vintage Airline logo. The gold sparkle grill cloth is in nice condition with no rips or sags. Handle and latches are all in fine shape. There is an audible hum but I believe it is because the cord is the original ungrounded 2 prong type. The case itself is made of wood(not pressed cardboard like the Silvertone/Danelectro made amp cases) Tube Compliment is the same as a Fender Champ: 6V6. The amp case is in very fine condition also. Sort of the father of the DeArmond and Morley Volume pedals.

I was recently informed that the tremolo unit in this guitar uses a"battery/bulb/LDR design for a soft clipping of the signal. Looks like all electronics parts are there so it may be just a faulty connection or battery not seated tight enough.

I tried the red button manual tremolo by installing a"C" battery but did not hear any difference. All parts look original with the exception of some mismatched tuner screws and pickguard screws and one tuner post and gear. Frets do have some wear on them, but I detect no buzz or fret outs along the neck. I am not going to mess with it any further. I did spray all pots and this seemed to help lubricate but the neck volume pot has become stiff again. The neck pickup volume pot is very hard to turn. BRIDGE pickup is louder and fuller sounding than the bridge pickup. Very nice condition overall for an almost 50 year old guitar. Guitar has some natural vintage wear(dings. Pictures: Please ask any questions and good luck.Īirline 2 pickup short scale electric guitar with Airline labeled tube amp case. Please ask all questions prior to auc tion end.

I'm not sure if the case is original or not but is a cool f aux ostrich skin case that screams mojo. The only m inor flaw is w ear it looks like someone put a stick er by the bigsby and th ere is some yellowish re s idue on the body. The white finish still has a great glossy sheen and it really s omething special in person. There is only one area of slight crazing in the finish on the lower bout as shown in the pictures. I have never seen a res-o-glas guitar in this kind of condition. The condition of the guitar is almost mint. The guitar was recently gone over by my tech and she inton ates and plays spot on. The bigs by vibrato completes the perfect setup. more feature s vintage style frets that show very little wear and she plays wonderfully. T he tonal possibilities are almost endless.

A series o f tone switches and"on" off" switches for each pickup. The guitar features individual volume controls for each pickup. You can get this really biting hollow type tone that is awesome. Th e piezo pickup is the secret a lot of Dan Au erbach's tone o n the Black Keys Brother and El Cam ino album.

T his combination is the same as the h ugely sought after Sup ro Martinique guitar. With obvious inspiration from Fender's Jazzmaster/Jaguar/Mustang offset guitars the Supro Arlington featured 3 pickups Two humbucker sized single coils and the"bridgetone" or piezo pickup built into the rosewood bridge.
